NLP COVID-19 Workshop
an emergency workshop at ACL 2020
July 9-10, 2020
OverviewLives all around the world have been dramatically impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The global research community has mobilized to respond with timely research and scientific analysis that can contribute to our understanding and management of the virus. The ACL community can play a unique role in supporting research to combat COVID-19. Many valuable insights and information may be contained in vast quantities of text and speech data. We invite submissions related to any aspect of natural language processing (NLP) applied to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, in an open, rapid review format that will allow this active and late-breaking research to be shared and discussed.
The virtual poster session of the workshop is now available!
The schedule of the workshop is now available!
To clarify the final submission deadline, it is the end of 30 June -- Anywhere on Earth
We have had quite a few submissions come in the last week and are expecting a number more ahead of the final submission deadline. Please see the note added below*. As announced on 2020-05-12, we may not be able to review these papers ahead of the workshop.
We will allow authors of accepted papers to choose to only include an abstract of their paper in the Workshop proceedings. This will therefore be compatible with formal publication of the work in another venue. (See update to Call for Papers under 'Submissions')
Please submit your work ASAP. Please note that we cannot guarantee a full review prior to the workshop if your paper is submitted in June.
We have added a resources page.
The ACL2020 conference organizers have announced that the ACL conference will be virtual. Therefore this workshop will also be held online.
